Hokkien Pan Mee SS19 @ Restoran Lian Heng, Subang

Lian Heng Coffee Shop is located at SS19, at the corner of a row of shop lots.

Hokkien Pan Mee Stall SS19
There is a famous Hokkien Pan Mee stall inside. It's a family business and they really cook non-stop especially during lunch hour. We need to collect a number card from the stall first then wait for them to come over for your order. Patience is important in order to eat this pan mee.

Hokkien Pan Mee @ RM4.50 (small) RM5.00 (big)
They only serve the traditional style of ''tear'' pan mee. Very different from the long noodles we have nowadays. The texture is smooth and each pieces are roughly the same size. It is very soft and bit chewy. Serve it with the special chili sauce into the soup make it perfect. Besides, the pan mee comes with minced pork with mushroom, crispy ikan bills, some sliced pork and sweet leaves. Everything is delicious !

Uncle Seng Fresh Own Made Noodles @ SS15, Subang

Almost everyone in Subang Jaya knows about Uncle Seng noodle. The noodle was fresh own-made by the owner named Uncle Seng. Introduced by a Friend to have a try here. The shop is non-air conditional but will still be crowded with customers especially during lunch hours. You will need to share tables with others. Almost 80% are the colleague students nearby.

Uncle Seng, Fresh Own Made Noodle

Green Chili and Special Chili Sauce
One of the specialities here that Uncle Seng makes their home-made red chill sauce too. I saw ppl pour almost the whole noodle turns real red. A little spicy and tasted like sambal.

Original Home-Made Noodle @ RM4.50
It looks fair and not attractive, but once you taste it, will feel totally different. The noodle is springy texture like ''ramen''. It can be eaten like this or add on with the vinegar green chili and red chili sauce.

Wanton Soup
The wanton noodle comes with a bowl of generous wanton from Uncle Seng, there are almost 7 wantons in it. I can really taste and bite the pork meat too, especially the wanton skin is smooth.

Curry Chicken Noodle @ RM5.50
The curry sauce is thick and rich of taste. The chicken is quite tender too. Uncle Seng noodle mixed well with the curry sauce.

Chicken Feet & Mushroom Noodle @ RM5.50
The chicken feet and mushrooms are well marinated with the soy sauce, very flavourful.

The food here is quite cheap at only RM4.50 for a normal noodle and RM5.50 for special ingredient such as curry chicken, mushroom chicken leg, mix of char siew and wanton etc. Further, the food portion here is huge too!!

SS20 Fish Head Noodle @ Damansara Kim

Happen to know this famous restaurant from NikelKhor.com. Thx Nikel !!

That night i went there with my parents. Its located at Damansara Kim, same row as the Super Tanker Chinese Restaurant. The road is quite dark after the chinese restaurant, but no worry as the SS20 Fish Head Noodle sign board is super bright, you wont missed out the restaurant.

There are several newspaper cutting and blogs article reviews sticked all over the wall. This restaurant is quite well-known in the town area.

Soya milk with cincau @ RM3.30
Soya milk is smooth and nice. Heard that they are famous selling soya milk in TTDI before this biz.

3 types of Main Course Fish noodle:
The originals come with Fine Mee Hoon while the choice of Lai Fun and Thick Mee Hoon will have an extra RM0.50 charge. We ordered all for thick mee hoon, because is the best for fish head noodle.

Haruan Fish head noodle (生魚片) @ RM10.00
comes with original mix Fry and Non-fry OR you may request for just Fry or Non-fry.

Soong Fish head noodle (松魚) @ RM8.50

Fish paste (魚滑) @ RM8.00
The fish paste is quite chewy

All noodle come with 4 pieces of fish. The soong fish is quite thick.

Their fish-flavoured broth added Chinese Sweet Rice wine (花雕酒) in it. Remember to inform the waiter to reduce or exclude the wine if you can't take alcohol. Hahaa coz we are not aware and half way of the meal, i saw my mum's face was red like a tomato!! (she cant take alcohol, but she normally can take cooking alcohol, just don't know why this she gotten so red)

As for the taste, i personally feel it can be more sourish. May be i love sour type of fish head noodle. This is bit too mild and because the noodle is tasteless it really needs strong flavoured broth soup to balance up. After all i will still prefer the Home Made Fish Head noodle at Dataran Sunway, which i blogged few years back. Haven't got the updated post yet.

JoJo Little Kitchen (Pan Mee) @ SS2

There was a new eating place at ss2 recently --- Jo Jo Pan Mee !!!

Heard this name somewhere but never try it before.... Surprisingly, the shop was packed with customer especially during lunch hour!!

The Traditional Pan Mee (you can pick your choice of noodle, either thick, thin or by pieces)

The pan mee noodle is very ''bouncing'' hahhaa good to chew.. the soup is clear

the sambal chili and ikan bilis are separated... so you can have the crunchiness of ikan bilis..

the Pieces pan mee

Curry pork pan mee

i love their home-made soya milk...!! very thick and nice...!!

There are many other varieties such as Chili pan mee, herbal chicken pan mee, century egg pan mee, lor pan mee etc.

Overall the traditional pan mee taste quite simple and honestly i feel its quite similar like the one at hawker stall. (thats my first taste opinion)... I will try the dry Chili Pan Mee next time i go back. =]

Restaurant Yong Len, Prawn Mee (虾面) @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail

Prawn Mee is actually or usually known as Hokkien Mee in Penang. But it will be confused in Klang valley as hokkien mee will be refer to ''fried hokkien noodle'' 福建麵 - black sauce noodle. So now its refer as Prawn Mee because the soup base is made of prawns.

I like prawn mee all the while but unfortunately most prawn mee in Klang valley tends to make the broth very spicy so that they need not use much prawns to boil the soup.

I love this stall's prawn mee as it taste quite similar to the ordinary Penang Prawn Mee!!

This is not very spicy.. and the soup is sweet of prawn taste. If you like spice, you add in the chili paste provided.

Love drinking the soup !! Excellent broth.

Besides, prawn mee there are several stalls too. I have tried the wan tan noodle, not bad but not the best. hahaha

A bowl of Prawn Mee @ RM3.80 only. The Prawn Mee stall is operated by a woman and a helper. Weekends are very crowded especially Sunday. Many ppl come here after Church next door. So it will be all sold out before 2pm.

The drinks served by Restoran Yong Len is really so so only. White coffee or milo is always very dilute.

Damansara Hokkien Mee (福建麵茶餐室) @ Uptown Damansara, DU

Passby uptown several times and always see this shop is full of customers.. Went for dinner that day to try it out. It's just located at the uptown commercial area, at the end of the row of HSBC Bank. Remember this Yellow sign board as there is another Charcoal Hokkien Mee just 2 shops ahead of this.

you can see a few plates of extra lards on the table side.

the menu. 1 person portion is RM6.00 and up to 5 person is RM30.00.

Hokkien Mee @ RM6.00
they are famous with lots lots of lards. The taste actually quite normal, may be given too high expectation as many ppl says its so delicious.

Cantonese Fried Koay Teow @ RM6.00

Pork Soup Mihun @ RM7.00
Dad likes the ''ba gao'' from penang... so he complain that this is not what he expected too. hahaha the soup really quite clear and I think is ok.

Vegetables

--- Something to highlight ---
one day i went to ta-bao the Hokkien Mee home for supper... out of my surprise, it taste much much delicious compare to i eat ''fresh'' at the restaurant. hahaha I wonder why.. but may be after packed and ''soaked'' for more than 10mins it taste better when reached home.

Hokkien Mee + Mihun @ RM12.00 - this is super big packet... can be eaten for 3 pax at least.

Ong Lai (Goh Kee) Restaurant (旺來 呉記飯檔) @ Jalan Raja Laut, KL

Visiting this ''backlane'' Restaurant at Jalan Raja Laut since my childhood. Always love their fried oyster and steam fish head. I think it has been years I din't dine in here. Check out this Ong Lai Restaurant last month and luckily the it is still here!! and they had extended into the shoplots but still through the back lane.

Sugarcane water is refreshing from the Bird Nest stall. Yes there is this drink stall that serves bird nest and selected fruit juice.

Their famous ''Chew Chow'' style Steam Fish Head (清蒸魚頭). There are some salty vege, ginger, sliced pork lard, dried cilli etc. The soup is bit sour. Its not exactly like before but some how 80% alike. Haha I still love it.

Wan Yu Fish

my dad favorite dish : pork meat noodle (肉筋米粉) - but its not as delicious as before, really 失水準。

Hokkien Noodle (福建炒麵)

Fried Potato Leaves (清炒樹苗)

The Restaurant is at one of the lane behind the shoplots of Jalan Raja Laut (opposite Menara EonBank). Tables are allocated under the big umbrellas. There used to be packed and you need to queue for tables. Now its better after they extended the indoor shoplot.

I forgotten how much each cost but total bill was RM65/= for 3 of us.

The food are not as good as before when I used to eat when small. May be because their old chefs had retire as I see mostly are younger ones cooking now. Really hope they improve and still pro-long their famous and tasty dish.

Pork Meat Ball Noodle (三间庄猪肉丸粉) @ Taman Tun (TTDI)

Pork Meat Ball Noodle (猪肉丸粉) has been well known as 3JC 三间庄猪肉丸粉 because they were origin from a place which link between 3 shoplots.

Found this Pork Meat Ball noodle stall at Restaurant TTDI Utama (老地方茶室) very nice and business is good too. Each bowl is only RM4.30 and for the Large one is RM5.00.

Besides noodle, a bowl of Pork meat Ball contains of minced meat, pork sausage, pork meat ball, some greenish onion and a little of white pepper.

The soup base Pork Meat Ball with koey teow + mee hoon.

Dry Pork Meat Ball with koey teow.

Their koey teow is just so slim and smooth. Loving it so much.

Pork meat ball is not soft nor hard, just nice to bite.

Enjoy my noodle with a cup of White coffee @ RM1.80.

The hawker stall located at Restaurant TTDI Utama (老地方茶室) at Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad 2. Located just opposite of Secret Recipe TTDI.

Estuary Grouper (龙趸) Fish Noodle @ Tmn Industri Sungai Buloh

Estuary Grouper or Giant grouper, is the largest bony fish found in coral reefs. - Wikipedia

Surprised to find Estuary Grouper (龙趸) Fish at a normal hawker stall at Taman Industri Sungai Buloh. The food court (kopitiam) is just located next to EONBank Sungai Buloh branch.

One of the fish ball noodles stall sells estuary grouper (龙趸) which are rarely find in Chinese Restaurant and normally is extremely expensive !!!

I order the estuary grouper with kueh teow noodle. Advise by dad that the top part of the grouper is nicer, which contains meat and collagen (near the skin). There is no fishy smell at all, meat is like bouncing (彈牙) haha if you tried it before estuary grouper meat is like chewing gum but its not hard. (i don't know how to describe hahhaa)

This bowl of noodle comes with some normal fish noodle ingredients: seaweed and vegetables. The keuh teow is smaller in size and the soup is light not salty enough, but you are given the normal soy sauce and chili to add on. All things are average and the specialties i think is just the estuary grouper fish.

This big bowl of estuary grouper 龙趸 fish noodle cost RM20.00. Which i think is worth for a try. They also have Red grouper (七星斑) too, at a cheaper price of RM14.00. Besides that they also serve normal fish ball noodle and estuary grouper fish ball noodle at RM5.50 only.

Some newspaper cut at the fish noodle the stall.

Okay back to the food court (kopitiam). It is 2 shoplot adjoining food court, its usually packed with customer during lunch hour because of the industrial area there. I feel so hot and sweat after eating my bowl of noodle as i think their ventilation is not so good.

other orders beside my fish noodle
white coffee ice @ RM2.00

2 rolls of chee cheung fun wrap with seng kuang in it and a piece of fu juk, comes with curry sauce and sweet sauce @ RM3.40
