Merchant's Lane @ Jalan Petaling, KL

The name of the cafe is quite interesting and I always thought is a name when i heard someone mention. ''mei zheng lin'' chinese of of Merchant's Lane.

The cafe restaurant is situated at the second level, along the way up the stairs we see dark bright sunlight as the ceiling is transparent.

The buildings here are long and depth inside have several different corner for customers to pick on. Outdoors, indoors, sofa tables etc.

My Minion Boy has his seat too!
I like the natural eroded walls but went there during noon, the sun is just right shinning on top of our head. Can't sit there for long.

5oz white @ RM11.00 each
There are 2 sizes in white coffee. 3oz or 5oz and you request coffee of your choice, be it latte or cappuccino. Or you may pick the iced white coffee.

Hongkie Beef Stew @ RM19.00
The beef was slow cooked for 12-hours with their cantonese style until it was so tender and just melted in mouth. The gravy is so thick and comes with strong beef aroma. Mix so well with the mash potato.

Italian Chow Mein @ RM23.00
Italian chow mein is the spaghetti agile olio fried with asian style chilli flake topped with traditional malaysian chicken rending. The chicken is generously huge and meaty. I felt the dish is too spicy for me. I can't differentiate is the rendang or chilli flake that is spicy.

Merchant's Waffle @ RM16.00
Lastly the dessert i was waiting for long, their signature waffle drizzle with the homemade caramel sauce. You get a choice of the ice cream flavour: earl grey, vanilla, kaya toast or panda coconut passionfruit & gulf melaka bits. The waffle is quite unique like eating roti jala kinds of feel, springy and soft. I like the waffle served hot and eating with the ice cream is like both cold and hot in the mouth. yummilicious.

Is usually full house especially lunch and dinner time. More to white collars during weekdays.

Closer Kitchen & Espresso Bar @ Mutiara Damansara

Often see this cafe in FB even its open. Finally today I can try it out. It situated near Tesco, The Curve, just right in front of the guard house of Menara TSR. The cafe is so fresh and bright with full glass drop at the side and front. Many little plants in the cafe.

Inside is very spacious and there is a corner for a long wooden table, good for group of friends for gathering.

Order is at the coffee bar, you may take the menu to your table and walk to the counter to order & pay.

 Flat White @ RM11.00
I feel the coffee here is quite strong, is like double shot in my flat white. I like the strong aroma taste, a little bitter but still acceptable without adding any sugar.

 Mushroom Cappuccino @ 10.00
The mushroom cappuccino soup came with two little but thick pieces of garlic toast bread. I was expecting some cappu in the soup but hmmm just some ''bubble foam'' on top. This is a soup base instead of those thick flour soup. Inside comes with generous shiitake mushroom tiny pieces.

The Perfect Salmon Parcel @ RM18.00
Got this with a surprise. Salmon in a pastry puff ! Inside stuff with a thick piece of seared salmon fillet and top with melted cheese on a bed of spinach. Not much seasoning in it but it goes well with their moroccan spicy sauce. I like the arugula salad.

Aloha Grilled Chicken with Pineapple @ RM18.00
This sandwich is quite big portion. I definitely unable to finish it all. It comes with oregano bread serve with mixed lettuce, thick & succulent chargrilled chicken. Topped with caramelised pineapple ring and freshly sliced onion. The chicken is tender and meaty, good for those on diet as there is no fats at all.

Really love this place, sun shines inside but don't feel any heat.

Kalamazoo Cafe @ Aman Suria

Introduce by a friend to this unique Cafe. Kalamazoo Cafe is located at the end of Aman Suria just a few shops away from Betty’s Midwest Kitchen. Not everywhere you get to have non-halal food but here do. Kalamazoo cafe serves pork in western style !

KALAMAZOO

Pork Loins @ RM15.90
What a special dish that i hardly find in most restaurants. The loins' part of a pig. The meat are oven baked topped with pineapple chutney. Sides are mashed potato and long beans. The loins meat looks whitish in colour, quite chewy and it's not tender enough. For those who like lean meat, will like this because no fats at all. The combination of the sauce is weird that brings a sweet taste on the pork.

Callahan’s Roast Chicken @ RM14.90
It was served with a big piece of drumstick, beded with mashed potato with some lettuce, tomato and cucumber at the side. The chicken is well roasted with the skin roasted dark brownish. The meat is quite tender and juicy serving with the sauce. I like the mashed potato soft and sandy.

Pork Burger @ RM13.50
The pork burger is stacked up with soft bun, lettuce with mayonnaise, pork patty, melted cheese, and tomato. Don't worry with dirtying your hands. It is nice to hold it tight with both hands, biting it will splash out some of their homemade sauce.

Sauces
They even added effort on the sauce served. This is really something special and unique.

The Hungry Hog @ SS15, Subang Jaya

The Hungry Hog is a cafe that served the honest food of Pork. The restaurant is located at the busiest city of SS15 Subang Jaya. Inside has lots of small porky deco thats really cute and some frames on the wall related to Pork.

Besides the main menu, they serve Set Lunch on Tuesday - Friday from 12.00pm to 3.00pm. Pricing from RM8.90. Each set lunch comes with iced lemon tea/ regular tea/ plain water.

Bacon Pasta @ RM10.90
A spaghetti served with bacon, olive oil, garlic and chili flakes. The spaghetti texture is cooked just nice of springy and bit chewy. Its quite mild in taste with just the olive oil. Luckily the cutlets bacon is marinated well to average up the taste. Quite a healthy and simple dish. I'm okay with it but if someone with a stronger appetite may not like this.

Plain Jane @ RM10.90 (normal hours is RM12.90)
A homemade pork burger patty and buns served with garden salads and chunky fries. The fries are freshly served that tasted thick and crunchy. The garden salad is fresh and comes with several cherry tomatoes too. However, the salad is without any dressing. Further asking from the waiter, they provide us a yellowish dressing that taste something like vinegar. (Dressing is upon request)

Plain Jane Porky Burger

Plain Jane Porky Burger
The burger comes with tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise, a thick pork patty and a piece of cheese. The cheese will slowly melted on to the pork patty while i start to eat. Pork burger patty is minced with onions that taste juicy and very tenderly soft. Especially with the cheese it really taste delicious. Enjoy my lunch so much !

Henry Cook @ SSTwo Mall, SS2

The logo of 2 chillis attracted me to go nearer to Henry Cook's restaurant and decided to dine in after looking at their menu. The restaurant is a mix of asian cuisine and nyonya fusion. The place inside are comfortable and cozy with unique decorations of kitchen utensils on the wall.

Henry Cook
Henry Cook Deco
Beef Stew Pot with Baked Hot Potatos @ RM19.00
We actually wanted to order with Yellow Fragrant Rice but they had ran out of it. So we get the hot potatoes. It comes with a separate pot full of beef, carrots, tomatoes and green beans. Vege salad at the side and chunks of hot potatoes in the middle.
Beef Stew Pot
The beef is boiled till soft and juicy. I love the gravy mixing with the hot potatoes. We had not enough potatoes and order an extra portion to eat with the beef. Extra portion of Hot Potatos @ RM3.00
I must try the Yellow fragrant rice next time since it was sold out must be very nice.

Chicken Kebab with Cheese @ RM9.40
Chicken Kebab with Cheese
It is wrap with a wheat pita bread. Inside are stuffed with all kinds of sliced vege salads, carrots, onions, kebab chicken and salad sauce. The portion is quite big that stacked up about 2 inches. I can't actually take up to bite like a burger coz everything will be falling off. At last i eat it with knife and fork.
The marinated chicken kebab taste good and tender. However half way eating the bottom portion of pita bread is getting wet due to the salad sauce. Don't quite like the wet texture.

Chicken Bamboo Noodle @ RM9.90
Noodle
The noodle itself are make of wheat and makes the texture very rough. The chicken bamboo ball is interesting, bouncy and able to taste the chinese bamboo in it. A big warm bowl comes with topping of bean sprouts, fried onion, some red chili in a clear broth.

Hot chocolate @ RM5.50
Surprisingly the hot chocolate really quite nice too.

Serai @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang

SERAI Restaurant at Empire Subang features a choice range of Malay, Thai and Western specialities. It is quite a nice and relaxing dining place. Is full house during lunch time even on weekdays.

Minted Calamansi Soda @ RM10.50
This is one of their signature drink. It tasted sourish, sweet and so refreshing with the lime and mint.

Satay Chicken @ RM15.00
This is the first time I tasted a super tender chicken satay. As satay I used to eat is mostly quite hard, but this is totally quite soft like just perfectly cooked. Very meaty and juicy, goes well with the satay peanut sauce.

Nasi Lemak @ RM16.00
Friends ordered Serai's signature nasi lemak. Comes with a huge chicken drumstick that surprised us. Is quite a big portion of nasi lemak served with sambal prawns, crispy ikan bilis, cucumber, peanut and 1/2 hard boiled egg. The chicken is marinated well with special spices and roasted aroma.

Sang Har Yin Yong @ RM19.00
I ordered this sang har noodle but was quite disappointed as the taste is not up to my expectation. Too salty of the gravy and noodle has no ''wok'' fried taste. Something to highlight, the ''sang har'' prawn although looks small and cute but is tasty and quite fresh.

After all, a nice ambiance for a corporate lunch here. Will be back to try out other food and desserts.

Delicious Cafe @ Bangsar Village 2

Have been some time I didn't step into delicious cafe. Saturday went there with mum but the cafe is full-house. Luckily we waited for just 10mins then we got a table.
DELICIOUS
Tall Latte @ RM9.90
Ordered a tall latte for sharing. Its smooth and taste nice. We dint add any sugar coz is not very bitter.

Grilled mushroom with toast @ RM21.50
Mum order this and she ask me is the toast is soaked with oil or olive oil. I have a bite and I almost throw out becoz I just feel mouthful of oil squeezing out when i bite the toast bread.
By the way, the grilled mushroom is nice, but not the bread -- TOO OILY. Even if its olive oil is not eaten like this.

Lambshank Pie @ RM24.90
My pie looks great and I love the smashed potato on top with the gravy. Besides, the separated salad is fresh and nice dressing.

Lamb shank
The lamb meat is tender too !! But one thing disappointed was the top part where the smashed potato is heat up but inner part of the lamb is not really hot, the meat is just warm. It can be better.

The cafe is cozy and comfortable for friends and family to gather. They serve nice desserts too.

The Yogitree @ The Gardens, KL

Come across this Restaurant from webuy, where I bought a coupon of RM49.90 for 2 sets meal (Main Dishes + Desserts + Drinks) that worth of RM112.00).

The Yogitree restaurant located at the busiest shopping centre between KL and PJ - the Gardens mall. Yogitree served mostly healthy organic food, thats why their pricing is slightly higher compared to normal restaurants.

Oriental Mushroom Linguini @ RM24.00
This is a vegetarian pasta, that stir fried with all kinds of mixed Japanese mushroom. Peeping at Yogitree menu, there are iringi, shitake, enoki, oyster, shimeiji mushrooms, arugula vegetables, carrots and cucumber. Not to forget, the linguini are fried with a dash of healthy truffle oil. Therefore the pasta really looks oily, a layer of oil at the bottom where i find it quite jelak while eating. But telling myself those are healthy olive oil, shouldn't be a problem.

Wagyu Beef Cheese Burger @ RM36.00
It was served with nicely decorated mixed side salads, potato wedges, mustard and gherkins and wagyu beef burger at each side of the serving plate. The side salad are refreshing serving with their home-made dressing. The potato wedges are crispy at the skin and flavour in it.

Wagyu Beef Cheese Burger
The wagyu beef was sandwich with a toasted soft bread. It doesn't look big at diameter but the wagyu beef patties is thick with some ham on top. The patties is really moist and the meat is divinely tender. You doesn't need to add on any sauce on it, the wagyu beef is very flavoured and taste delicious. This is a perfect Sunday brunch for me.

Cheese Cake @ RM13.00
Yogitree has some daily cakes and brownies. Their cheese cake is very rich of cheese. The taste is strong and cake is soft, it is melting in my mouth each and every bite.

Having an afternoon tea with friends and family here is relaxing and comfortable with the quiet environment.

Grumps Cafe @ SS2 Mall

Grumps located at the outer side area of SS2 Mall. They had another outlet at Kelana Jaya too. Grumps cafe serves pork and mainly on western cuisine. Their tables and chairs are very simple like a feel of ''food court'' when looking from outside. The workers are friendly but the food are serving slow. We waited for quite long before the salad are served.
Garden Salad
The salad comes in a big portion. Many greens and lots of chopped carrots, red pepper, cucumbers that makes it so colorful. We choose the balsamic vinegar for the sauce instead of thousand island sauce. Probably taste healthier with the balsamic vinegar. The salads are fresh!!

Pumpkin Soup
The color of the soup is beautifully yellowish. The taste of pumpkin is not strong, but quite refreshing. I don't fond on pumpkin but i can drink it all. Adding some white pepper makes it nicer.

400g Pork Ribs with Black Beer
The pork ribs portion is huge. It is nicely cut and decorated nicely with fries. It looks like braised 'siu yuk', with 3 layer of skin, fats and meat. The black beer sauce is sweet and nice. However, the meat seems not marinated equally, just the outer layer is flavourful. The meat had a very strong porky smell, some may not like it. Not the forget the fries are crispy and fat, good serving with the sauce.

Combo Pizza: Hawaiian & Mushroom @ RM22.00
It comes combo with 2 choices. The crust is very crispy and not thick at all. The Hawaiian is served with chicken ham and pineapple while the mushroom is served with tomato puree and mushroom only. Both are topped with mozzarella cheese that is so stingy. I personally like the Hawaiian style more that taste stronger and sweet with the pineapple. But the mushroom is a bit mild and almost tasteless besides the mozzarella cheese.
