Lam Mee Ya @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang

LamMeeYa has been opening several outlets is major shopping centre nowadays. It was like ages since my previous visit at the 1Utama branch. Their food is getting more variety and recently serving the double boiled soup and all kinds of healthy fruits juice too in Empire Shopping outlet.

Lam YeeMee
Order the Lam Yee Mee for myself instead of the normal thick yellow noodle. Sick of the thick noodle on my last visit in 1U. This time the yee mee taste really better as i like the aroma of yee mee noodle. It's served with prawns, meatball, sliced chicken and some vege. I'm glad that they removed the prawn shell for me. Everything is delicious.

Special Chilli Sauce
The gravy mix well with their special chili sauce. Feel its not so spicy this time. Great !

Steam bread with kaya and butter
Find it funny that day served bread here too! The bread is steamed soft but its not heat enough to melt the butter. Somehow i just feel it taste normal. Nothing special about this.

Royal Milk Tea
The milk tea here really not bad. Nothing to complain from a Noodle Shop. Smooth and fragrance of tea is strong too. I'm not sure what is the difference between this royal milk tea and their normal milk tea. Visually is the mug that makes the different and both has so much bubbles on top too. There is a difference of 20 cents on price oh.

Restoran Kong Sai (广西仔) @ SS15, Subang Jaya

My ex-boss has been bring us for lunch at Kong Sai Zai quite frequently. It's located at the busiest area of SS15, hardly get a car park space there but if turn in from the back lane, Restoran Kong Sai has actually a open space car park in between 2 corner shop lots of theirs (one with zircon one without).

Quarter Chicken (lower part) @ RM16.00
Restoran Kong Sai is famous of their steamed chicken. A must to order when dine in here. They serve Village Chicken (菜园鸡), those which are more tender than the Kampung Chicken. The chicken meat is so smooth and no hard or springy at all.

Special Sauce
One of their specialties is also on this unique sauce. Combination of spring onion, fried onions, fried oil, oyster sauce etc. It has the fragrance taste that is quite similar to ppl using ''minced ginger'' sauce.

Trotters in Vinegar (猪脚醋) @ RM12.00 (small)/ RM15.00 (medium)/ RM18.00 (large)
This is also one of the dish we will always order at Restoran Kong Sai. Their portion is big too, the picture above is just small pot. The trotters are marinated and braised till the meat is juicy with the vinegar soup. Especially the soft bone pork is so nice. I personally love the vinegar soup so much because it's not extremely sour or thick.

Fu Yu Yau Mak @ RM8.00 (small)/ RM10.00 (medium)/ RM12.00 (large)
Stir fried with spicy bean curd and garlics. It looks whitish in color and taste salty.

Fried omelet @ RM8.00 (large)/ RM6.00 (small)
The omelet was nicely fried. It's quite thick too with the generous of prawns, red chill, onions, spring onions, dry radish. Its simply nice with the crunchy dry radish and crispy outer layer. I think i can finish up the whole plate by myself.

Double Boiled Soup @ RM5.00 each
They are quite famous and particular with their boiled soup 炖汤. This time we order the watercress and old cucumber soup. Both soup tasted so rich and thick. It comes with a big bowl, huge portion for a pax. Each bowl can actually divided into small 5 bowls. Worth for sharing.

The Hungry Hog @ SS15, Subang Jaya

The Hungry Hog is a cafe that served the honest food of Pork. The restaurant is located at the busiest city of SS15 Subang Jaya. Inside has lots of small porky deco thats really cute and some frames on the wall related to Pork.

Besides the main menu, they serve Set Lunch on Tuesday - Friday from 12.00pm to 3.00pm. Pricing from RM8.90. Each set lunch comes with iced lemon tea/ regular tea/ plain water.

Bacon Pasta @ RM10.90
A spaghetti served with bacon, olive oil, garlic and chili flakes. The spaghetti texture is cooked just nice of springy and bit chewy. Its quite mild in taste with just the olive oil. Luckily the cutlets bacon is marinated well to average up the taste. Quite a healthy and simple dish. I'm okay with it but if someone with a stronger appetite may not like this.

Plain Jane @ RM10.90 (normal hours is RM12.90)
A homemade pork burger patty and buns served with garden salads and chunky fries. The fries are freshly served that tasted thick and crunchy. The garden salad is fresh and comes with several cherry tomatoes too. However, the salad is without any dressing. Further asking from the waiter, they provide us a yellowish dressing that taste something like vinegar. (Dressing is upon request)

Plain Jane Porky Burger

Plain Jane Porky Burger
The burger comes with tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise, a thick pork patty and a piece of cheese. The cheese will slowly melted on to the pork patty while i start to eat. Pork burger patty is minced with onions that taste juicy and very tenderly soft. Especially with the cheese it really taste delicious. Enjoy my lunch so much !

Hokkien Pan Mee SS19 @ Restoran Lian Heng, Subang

Lian Heng Coffee Shop is located at SS19, at the corner of a row of shop lots.

Hokkien Pan Mee Stall SS19
There is a famous Hokkien Pan Mee stall inside. It's a family business and they really cook non-stop especially during lunch hour. We need to collect a number card from the stall first then wait for them to come over for your order. Patience is important in order to eat this pan mee.

Hokkien Pan Mee @ RM4.50 (small) RM5.00 (big)
They only serve the traditional style of ''tear'' pan mee. Very different from the long noodles we have nowadays. The texture is smooth and each pieces are roughly the same size. It is very soft and bit chewy. Serve it with the special chili sauce into the soup make it perfect. Besides, the pan mee comes with minced pork with mushroom, crispy ikan bills, some sliced pork and sweet leaves. Everything is delicious !

Serai @ Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang

SERAI Restaurant at Empire Subang features a choice range of Malay, Thai and Western specialities. It is quite a nice and relaxing dining place. Is full house during lunch time even on weekdays.

Minted Calamansi Soda @ RM10.50
This is one of their signature drink. It tasted sourish, sweet and so refreshing with the lime and mint.

Satay Chicken @ RM15.00
This is the first time I tasted a super tender chicken satay. As satay I used to eat is mostly quite hard, but this is totally quite soft like just perfectly cooked. Very meaty and juicy, goes well with the satay peanut sauce.

Nasi Lemak @ RM16.00
Friends ordered Serai's signature nasi lemak. Comes with a huge chicken drumstick that surprised us. Is quite a big portion of nasi lemak served with sambal prawns, crispy ikan bilis, cucumber, peanut and 1/2 hard boiled egg. The chicken is marinated well with special spices and roasted aroma.

Sang Har Yin Yong @ RM19.00
I ordered this sang har noodle but was quite disappointed as the taste is not up to my expectation. Too salty of the gravy and noodle has no ''wok'' fried taste. Something to highlight, the ''sang har'' prawn although looks small and cute but is tasty and quite fresh.

After all, a nice ambiance for a corporate lunch here. Will be back to try out other food and desserts.

Uncle Seng Fresh Own Made Noodles @ SS15, Subang

Almost everyone in Subang Jaya knows about Uncle Seng noodle. The noodle was fresh own-made by the owner named Uncle Seng. Introduced by a Friend to have a try here. The shop is non-air conditional but will still be crowded with customers especially during lunch hours. You will need to share tables with others. Almost 80% are the colleague students nearby.

Uncle Seng, Fresh Own Made Noodle

Green Chili and Special Chili Sauce
One of the specialities here that Uncle Seng makes their home-made red chill sauce too. I saw ppl pour almost the whole noodle turns real red. A little spicy and tasted like sambal.

Original Home-Made Noodle @ RM4.50
It looks fair and not attractive, but once you taste it, will feel totally different. The noodle is springy texture like ''ramen''. It can be eaten like this or add on with the vinegar green chili and red chili sauce.

Wanton Soup
The wanton noodle comes with a bowl of generous wanton from Uncle Seng, there are almost 7 wantons in it. I can really taste and bite the pork meat too, especially the wanton skin is smooth.

Curry Chicken Noodle @ RM5.50
The curry sauce is thick and rich of taste. The chicken is quite tender too. Uncle Seng noodle mixed well with the curry sauce.

Chicken Feet & Mushroom Noodle @ RM5.50
The chicken feet and mushrooms are well marinated with the soy sauce, very flavourful.

The food here is quite cheap at only RM4.50 for a normal noodle and RM5.50 for special ingredient such as curry chicken, mushroom chicken leg, mix of char siew and wanton etc. Further, the food portion here is huge too!!

Jom Bali Cafe @ Carrefour Subang Jaya

Jombali is located at Subang Jaya Carrefour. They are serving the local malayasian cuisine. The food served very slow and they are like lack of staff because it is hard to call them. The waiter waitress are always very busy.

Sambal spaghetti with chicken
Its a mix of malay and western style. The spaghetti is fried with sambal paste, tasted sour and spicy. The chicken is disappointed because its not tender and tasteless.

Ginger Barley with Honey
It taste sweet and interesting with the ginger taste.

Kantonis Fried Sang Mee
Jombali serving set lunch during weekdays from 11.00am to 3.00pm. At the price of RM10.90 you get a main dish and a glass of drink.
It actually looks nice when served. The noodles are not still very crunchy although after soaking in the hot gravy for some time. Disappointed me again, the gravy is almost tasteless. We had to add on black soy sauce to enhance the flavour. Not to mention other ingredients, the prawns itself taste very artificial. It's almost transparent and no natural sweet taste at all besides crunchy.

Firewood Roaste Ice Coffee
Got a free drink with a nice name of Firewood Roaste Ice Coffee. Tasted just like normal ice coffee but at least better than the expectation of the noodle.

Daiki Cafe @ Subang Jaya

Daiki Cafe is sort of a Japanese cafe that also serve the local specialities like nasi lemak, curry noodle, ayam masak merah etc.

Mee Jawa @ RM5.90
The mee jawa decently looks delicious with the yellowish gravy. It comes with bean sprout, crackers, fish paste, potatoes, dry bean curd, lettuce and sprinkle with lots of sesame. The yellowish gravy made from potatoes are thick and aromatic, especially after squeezing the lime juice in it enrich the taste to be sourish. The crackers turns soft fast but flavourful soaking in the gravy.

Kueh Teow Soup @ RM5.90
This is a soup noodle with all sorts of fish paste, fish ball, fish tofu and green vegetables. It looks dull and blend from the look but it's actually quite flavourful despite the clear soup. Generous pieces of fish ball and fish tofu. The fish ball is not bouncy but fresh and meaty. However, i feel so thirsty after the lunch. The soup might have added too much ajinomoto thats why is so flavourful.

Fried Mee & Mee Hoon @ RM3.60
This looks like those economic fried noodle, that comes with fried onions, bean sprout, cabbage and lettuce. Fried with the black soy sauce, its quite tastety actually. Serving with their special sambal belacan, does enhance the taste. A simple dish suitable for tea time or a small eater for lunch.

Barley Lemon @ RM2.50
It tasted very refreshing with the lemon juice in it. Sourish and cooling. Good for digestions too.

Restoran Kar Hiong 家香飯店 @ SS18, Subang Jaya

Restaurant Kar Hiong is a family based business. They serve the Chinese cuisine that we usually eat at home with their own secret recipe cooking style. Don't be confuse with the 2 same signage of Restaurant Kar Hiong at the same row of shoplots. They actually expand the business openning the 2nd outlet just 5 units away to cater the crowd.

Ginger Steamed Fish Head @ RM24.00
The soong fish head is quite huge but the fish meat is still smooth and soft. The fish is fresh and without the fishy smell. Perfectly steamed at the right timing. It's beded with generous ginger sauce on top. The ginger sauce is not only little spicy but also comes with a strong nice fragrance.

Fried Vegetable @ RM9.00
This is a unique vegetable that seldom served as a dish itself. I don't know what is the name of it but is the leafy veggies that we normally find in the Pan Mee. It was soaked and minced then stir fried with scramble eggs. The texture is very soft and bit chewy something like baby food . This is a must to order in Kar Hiong Restaurant, very yummy!

Vinegar Pork Trotter @ RM15.00
I was surprise the small portion is quite big too. Many pieces and each piece comes with pork skin and some very tender meat. The vinegar soup is very delicious too. The taste is rich with sourish and some herbal aroma. Makes me keep drinking and eat up my portion of white rice. Very addictive !

Double boil soup of the day @ RM8.00
They are serving different kinds of soup everyday. Each portion is huge that can be shared among 3 person. Today is the dried veggie soup, good for preventing heat of our body (下火).

Face to Face Noodle (面对面 板面专卖店) @ SS15 Subang Jaya

Have been seeing this shop many times. Curious of its name face to face until i knew it was a noodle house. Having lunch there last week.

Order the House Specialty Hot & Spicy Pan Mee (Dry) @ RM4.80

On the table is some ready chily paste.

I just take mild spicy so i just add some to try out the taste. The noodle is just chewy enough but the egg yolk bit over boiled. Honestly overall i still prefer the Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee at KL or the Chili Pan Mee at Kota Damansara which they have a few branches.

The Soup Pan Mee @ RM4.80

They have also a variety choices of other pan mee or sarawak noodle. Price wise is reasonable.
