Pastis Cafe & Dining @ The Gardens, Midvalley

Pastis Cafe is located next to the escalator to basement car park. The cafe looks bit high class, something like hotel's lounge bar. Basically they are more towards western style cakes & coffee, with some pasta and sandwiches. Saw most customer here to enjoy the hi-tea.

Hot Mocha @ RM9.90
It is served with a piece of biscotti. Taken a hard time to stir the mocha because the cream is almost half of the glass. The coffee is very creamy and sweet at the end because lots of chocolate jam are not melted. Will request for light cream the next round. I feel so fattening now.

Mushroom Soup @ RM15.90
It comes with a huge serving bowl or i should is a plate instead? Only the middle is sink into where the soup are filled. It's served with 2 soft bread too.

Mushroom Soup
Quite disappointed with the mushroom soup as it was over extremely salty The texture and taste is actually very good and nice. But just too salty. I wonder does the chef added triple portion of salt in it. We requested for a cup of hot water to add in, hoping to dilute the saltiness. I saw the table next door is smiling and i think they did the same too.

Lamb Pie @ RM19.90
The lamb pie is topped with a chunk of mashed potato and some salads at the side. It was showered with delicious brown sauce. The mashed potato is quite rough but can easily taste the real potato taste. The pastry of the pie is delicious, and there are lots of lamb meat cube in it with some potato cubes too. Even the salad is nice with their salad balsamic sauce. Afterall its delicious but again quite salty.

Goku Raku Ramen @ Mid Valley Megamall

Has been listening about this Goku Raku Ramen for long, finally I have a chance to tried it out on a busy weekend afternoon at Mid Valley.

Goku Raku Ramen

Goku Raku Ramen Menu
Ultimate Ramen @ RM16.90 (small)
There are 3 options of soup base to pick on: Tonkotsu Soup (pork rib bones), Shoyu Tonkotsu soup and Miso Tonkotsu Soup.
Ultimate Ramen (Miso Tonkotsu Soup)
I chosen the Miso Tonkotsu soup base. The Ramen topped with numerous ingredient inclusive of char siew, flavoured egg, black fungus, spring onions, leeks, bamboo shoots, cabbage, seaweed and fragrant garlic oil. The egg white is perfectly set while the yolk remains velvety and squishy, extremely soft and delicious. The 2 pieces of char siew is super tender, it comes with a layer of fats too which tasted yummy. Love drinking the broth that tasted flavourful and strong smell of miso and sesame perfectly complements the broth.

Kobuta Meshi Don @ RM6.90
This is a mini don that comes with generous of simmered pork cubes and spring onions on the Japanese Rice. The pork cubes has the smokey smell like roasted in ashes for quite some times. The meat is almost soft and rough like floss meat that will melt in my mouth. The rice is little chewy to serve well with the pork cubes and some pork gravy.

Gyoza @ RM7.90
The pork dumplings are pan fried perfectly with a brownish roasted at the bottom skin. I like to eat the dumpling skin which is little crispy and thin. Inside are stuffed with mixed pork patty and spring onions. The pork meat is like steamed cooked which remains some pork essence broth in it. Very juicy pork dumplings. I find the shoyu sauce served are too salty, would rather it the dumplings alone without any sauce.

Matcha Float @ RM8.90
It was served in a tall glass. Very greenish in color and topped with whipped cream and green tea ice cream. I personally enjoy the green tea ice cream very much but the drink is quite disappointed, as it tasted very powerish.

One thing to highlight, I also ordered a glass of warm water and when I call for the bill, I was shocked with RM2.00 charge. Written on the bill is Lemon Water with remarks: Warm and No lemon. First of all I did not request for no lemon, and the waiter should have highlight this to me in advance. RM2.00 for a glass of warm water is more expensive than a mineral water ! At least they serve me with some lemon, i wouldn't had been so pissed off.

Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe @ Mid Valley Megamall

Went to Mid Valley this afternoon and walk around but don't know what to eat. Passby this greenish garden feel Cafe... ya it's really call Garden actually. hahhaa so we went in for brunch. Recall I tried the outlet in 1 Utama few years back. The water-cress soup was fresh and nice, but i dint order this time.

A pretty pianist playing in a cage!!... why cage her? aiks.... funny idea...

Cappuccino @ RM8.90
Coffee was nice but don't like when the time the waiter serve it to my table... it spilt at the side of the cup are all coffee stain...

Chef's recommended Wild Mushroom Soup @ RM10.90
Wonder the golden circle is vinegar or olive oil?? hahaa why i ask so is because the soup taste sourish.. is kind of weird right? May be to open your appetite to finish it... Garlic bread is crispy very nice.

The Garden Sandwich @ RM14.90

Clay Pot Fried Loh See Fun @ RM12.90
Something special to try in a ''Garden'' cafe - Asian food. Hmmm i think it's put into the Claypot after fried because the claypot is not HOT... so actually just served in claypot not cook in claypot... hahhaha
Inside contains generous of shredded black seaweed, onions, carrots, bean sprout with egg. A bit too salty i can say.

ooops... too fussy and how come so many complains....
After all the food is quite okay... and to enjoy the "garden'' feel in a shopping complex.
