BlackBall 黑丸 @ Sri Petaling

After their first outlet at Subang Jaya last 2 months, here comes another new outlet of BlackBall at Sri Petaling now !!!

Black Ball the famous Original Taiwanese Tea & Dessert -- the BEST Grass Jelly 仙草 in town.

Just let you have a bits of BlackBall history/ background:
BlackBall company started back in 2006, has bloomed and now stands as one of the biggest dessert chains in Taipei with over 20 outlets and still expanding. Drawing from the idea of 'Xian Cao' 仙草 being 'black' in colour and taro ‘balls’, came the birth of BlackBall - a dessert connoiseur that has its roots in Taiwan.
The company was founded and created by Mr. Tang, who is an experienced tour guide, when he came across ‘Xian Cao’ by chance upon travelling to ‘Guan Xi’. He was thrilled and excited by what he had encountered, as notonly did his new discovery taste great, but it also provided various health benefits.
What makes our beverages and desserts differ from others?
Tea - Unlike others, the tea we serve/use is freshly brewed on site everyday. For every four hours we will change our high quality tea leaves to serve you the freshest and the finest tea.
'Xian Cao‘ 仙草 - Finest quality 'Xian Cao' imported directly from Guan Xi, producing top notch quality 'Xian Cao' tea and grass jelly, giving you the heavenly taste you will never find in other dessert chains.
Taro Balls - We use only handmade taro balls with natural ingredients, promising you the most chewy taro balls you have ever tasted.

Instead of normal crushed ice, they uses Xian Cao crushed ice as the base of the BlackBall desserts.

The BlackBall Signature is the most popular ones... out of stock.. and need to wait around 30mins for the Taro Balls.

BlackBall Signature 大黑丸 (Cold) @ RM6.50
Although the menu only written 5 toppings but i can see mine got 7 (as shown in the pix) !!
Grass Jelly ice is the base, on top has a layer of Grass Jelly,  Taro Balls, Taro Q, Sweet Potato Q, Yellow Potato, Red Bean and Pearl. 嫩仙草,芋圓,芋Q,珍珠,紅豆。
QC very good, the taste is the same i get from Subang Jaya outlet. Their Xian Cao not too sweet, very smooth jelly and strong herbal taste. The Taro balls are chewy!! Taro Q can taste the real yam and sweet potato flesh. Everything is just so matching.

BlackBall Signature 大黑丸 (Hot) @ RM6.50
Its liquid grass jelly.. it slowly becomes solid when i'm eating.. later it becomes solid jelly but the taste is still very nice and herbal aroma is strong too.

"Jiu Fen" Taro Ball Grass Jelly 九份芋圓仙草冰 @ RM6.50
It name as a famous place Jiu Fen in Taiwan where the origin of Taro Balls. Besides the Taro Balls and Pearl it add on the Sweetened beans. Served with brown sugar syrup!

Separated Creamer for Blackball Signature and Brown sugar syrup for Jui Fen Taro Ball Grass Jelly to be added on according to your own taste.

Back: Signature "Xian Cao" Tea with Grass Jelly 黑丸仙草冻饮 @ RM5.90

Was told that the Xian Cao tea has NO add on sugar. Its all natural sweet from the herbal grass.

Front: Fresh Milk with Grass Jelly 鮮奶仙草冻饮 @ RM5.90
I din't try this when i visit the previous outlet because i scared will feel nasty for a huge cup of milk. But after tasting it, i was delighted with the fragrance that comes from the Xian Cao. Its so refreshing and cooling with the smooth and Q grass jelly, wont feel any sick of too much milk. This is my favourite drink now !!!!

BOBA Milk Tea 波霸奶茶 @ RM5.90
comes with chewy pearls.

My friend's baby loves the grass jelly so much !!

SS20 Fish Head Noodle @ Damansara Kim

Happen to know this famous restaurant from NikelKhor.com. Thx Nikel !!

That night i went there with my parents. Its located at Damansara Kim, same row as the Super Tanker Chinese Restaurant. The road is quite dark after the chinese restaurant, but no worry as the SS20 Fish Head Noodle sign board is super bright, you wont missed out the restaurant.

There are several newspaper cutting and blogs article reviews sticked all over the wall. This restaurant is quite well-known in the town area.

Soya milk with cincau @ RM3.30
Soya milk is smooth and nice. Heard that they are famous selling soya milk in TTDI before this biz.

3 types of Main Course Fish noodle:
The originals come with Fine Mee Hoon while the choice of Lai Fun and Thick Mee Hoon will have an extra RM0.50 charge. We ordered all for thick mee hoon, because is the best for fish head noodle.

Haruan Fish head noodle (生魚片) @ RM10.00
comes with original mix Fry and Non-fry OR you may request for just Fry or Non-fry.

Soong Fish head noodle (松魚) @ RM8.50

Fish paste (魚滑) @ RM8.00
The fish paste is quite chewy

All noodle come with 4 pieces of fish. The soong fish is quite thick.

Their fish-flavoured broth added Chinese Sweet Rice wine (花雕酒) in it. Remember to inform the waiter to reduce or exclude the wine if you can't take alcohol. Hahaa coz we are not aware and half way of the meal, i saw my mum's face was red like a tomato!! (she cant take alcohol, but she normally can take cooking alcohol, just don't know why this she gotten so red)

As for the taste, i personally feel it can be more sourish. May be i love sour type of fish head noodle. This is bit too mild and because the noodle is tasteless it really needs strong flavoured broth soup to balance up. After all i will still prefer the Home Made Fish Head noodle at Dataran Sunway, which i blogged few years back. Haven't got the updated post yet.

Nagomi Shabu-Shabu @ Menara Hap Seng, KL

I was so glad to be invited for a Shabu-shabu buffet last weekend. Nagomi Japanese Restaurant now is having a special deal promotion of buffet shabu-shabu at only RM32.80!! This is only available at the outlet at Menara Hap Seng, KL.

Let have a look at the warm light romantic restaurant.

Each will have individual pot and self-adjust speed of 1 to 3 at the table side. Its extremely easy too.

The food corner.

Green tea is refillable.

The food corner is a L-shape full with over 80 varieties of fresh meat, sushi, sashimi, seafood, noodles, deep fried items, vegetables, desserts, fruits etc by their Head Chef, Jack Chan.

All the sliced meat (chicken, duck, beef, lamb) are well-prepared at the sushi bar counter. I love the beef and lamb most !

Slipper Lobster

Live Australian Yabby Lobster. ------ Seasonal Item.
According to the friendly Advertising & Promotion Senior Executive - Debbie, they are in the midst of discussion with the supplier to serve the Live Yabby Lobster daily.

Assorted seafood: Half Shell Scallop, Oyster, Mussel, Bamboo Clam, Flower Crab, Tiger Prawn, White Clam etc.

Assorted fish ball, fish paste, crab stick etc.

Assorted Vegetables and Mushrooms

The fruits corner.

A special session at 8 - 9pm, there will be Salmon Sashimi served at the sushi bar counter. I can feel the salmon freshness and the lining of the salmon is beautiful. If you don't eat raw, can put into the hot pot for 2 seconds and it will taste great too.

This is a corner that seldom seen in most Buffet restaurant. --- Assorted of sauce for your shabu-shabu!!
You will have the Nagomi soup as base and also 3 extra soup paste to add on. (Kimchi paste, Ginger paste and Spicy Miso Toban paste)

I just pick a few sauces as there are too many different dressing and sauces such as Ponzu (Japanese Vinegar), Goma Sauce (Sesame), Thai Chili Sauce, Nyonya Sauce, Wafu Dressing (Japanese Vinaigrette), Shoyu Dressing (Soy bean based dressing) and Kyuri Dressing (Cucumber based dressing).

My favourite of the night - Live Aus Yabby Lobster.

It try to escape from my plate before I was able to put it into the hot pot.

Hope it enjoy the ''Sauna''. Oopppss..

'Mr. Red' is cooked !!

The Yabby Lobster meat is so sweet and fresh !!! Don't see its small, the meat are thick in it.

No joke, the prawns are so sweet n juicy too.

Had a great night with the great food of shabu-shabu buffet dinner. Thanks to Ivy and Debbie for the invitation.

Besides the buffet, Nagomi is having this Carlsberg Bucket (5 bottles) promotion for only RM30++.

If you haven't try shabu-shabu, now is the great chance to enjoy yourself with just RM32.80++ buffet style (Children 5 - 12 years old @ RM18.80++). Yes, eat all you can!! (not included drinks)
