Hakka Rang Restaurant (客家人) @ Kota Damansara

Went to this special Hakka (客家) cuisine a few times back. The food there is something special and unique different from normal chinese restaurant. This is a family business and the restaurant environment is clean and tidy.

Their special hakka dishes:

Hakka Tofu Pok (客家豆腐卜) - there are meat ball in the beancurd ball. soup is clear and nice.


Claypot beancurd with egg - there are minced meat and sliced mushroom inside too


Bittergourd with salted egg - I don't like bittergourd but i truely love this dish as the salted egg yolk just cover up the bitter taste..


Deep fried pork with black fungus 炸肉燜木耳 - the meat is ''mun'' till very soft and tender with the sauce. best to serve with rice !!


Curry wild pork 加哩山猪肉 - hardly can find wild pork in the market and wild pork is usually very hard to bite, but this is totally different... 


stir fry potato leaves - nice and crunchy (not oily)


Recently they are serving this coconut ice-lollies !!! 6 flavors available.

My childhood ice cream... hahhaa my all time favorite - Corn flavor !!



Food is delicious and worth of trying. Price range around RM10 - RM15. Weekend is quite pack but don worry the food is served quite fast.

Imperial Garden Restaurant (大同皇苑) @ Intan Square, Petaling Jaya

Dine-in Imperial Garden during Chinese New Year, with my colleagues. This meal was treated by my boss and a manager, so i may not know the total bill nor the exact name of the dish. ^.^

Just wanted to share the pictures as the food are quite nice presented and tasty!!

We are sited in one of the VIP rooms.


Appetizer




Highly recommended by boss for an ''appetizer'' before our main meals because he loves this so much. But the chef doesn't put this dish in our menu tonight. 
Its deeped fried tofu cube with some seasoning outside. It taste like snacks to me !! delicious !!!


All the food that night was recommended by the Chief Chef. So we doesn't know what is it until its served on the table.

there are fried soft shell crap, scallop in yam mini basket, bacon wrapped fishball and Fu Zhuk wrapped fish roe.

Curry Roasted suckling piglet (烧乳猪) - surprised that its actually curry sauce at the bottom !!! New try.

the hot and yam starch is nice... taste bit like kaya.

I'm loving this... yumm yummm !!!


We had a wonderful dinner and all of us bring a big tummy back home satisfactorily.

Tang Pin Kitchen (天品雅厨) @ Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara

I was attracted by its unique and ''high class'' name of 天品 from its signboard. I thought it might be a Chinese Restaurant serving the emperor's dish. It was actually a fish noodle shop after entered. They are actually under the same management of Tang House of Fishball 魚鄉丸.





They are famous of the home-made fish balls.


Some of the main dishes in the Menu.


They serves desserts tong shui too.


Ginger Soya Milk Glutinous Ball.


Signature Noodle - Tien Pin Mee Pok (天品面卜) @ RM6.00
It is topped with lots of crispy deep fried pork lard and minced pork with fish balls and fish cake.

Fishpaste Porridge (鱼乡粥) @ RM6.00
serves with slices of fish cake, fish balls and fu-chok.

A place of fish ball and fish cake lovers.

Ong Lai (Goh Kee) Restaurant (旺來 呉記飯檔) @ Jalan Raja Laut, KL

Visiting this ''backlane'' Restaurant at Jalan Raja Laut since my childhood. Always love their fried oyster and steam fish head. I think it has been years I din't dine in here. Check out this Ong Lai Restaurant last month and luckily the it is still here!! and they had extended into the shoplots but still through the back lane.





Sugarcane water is refreshing from the Bird Nest stall. Yes there is this drink stall that serves bird nest and selected fruit juice.


Their famous ''Chew Chow'' style Steam Fish Head (清蒸魚頭). There are some salty vege, ginger, sliced pork lard, dried cilli etc. The soup is bit sour. Its not exactly like before but some how 80% alike. Haha I still love it.

my dad favorite dish : pork meat noodle (肉筋米粉) - but its not as delicious as before, really 失水準。

The Restaurant is at one of the lane behind the shoplots of Jalan Raja Laut (opposite Menara EonBank). Tables are allocated under the big umbrellas. There used to be packed and you need to queue for tables. Now its better after they extended the indoor shoplot.


I forgotten how much each cost but total bill was RM65/= for 3 of us.

The food are not as good as before when I used to eat when small. May be because their old chefs had retire as I see mostly are younger ones cooking now. Really hope they improve and still pro-long their famous and tasty dish.

Ko Hyang (故鄉) @ The Gardens Midvalley City

Once looking for food at The Gardens MV. Found this Korean delights at the lower ground floor just outside Ding Tai Feng Restaurant and next to the escalator. It was quite packed and tables are almost full of customers.





Sik Hae Korean rice Tea (Korean style barley) @ RM3.80
It taste like rice tea, kind of herbal water for me.


Kim Chi Ji Gae (Thick and rich kimchi stew with rice) @ RM14.90
Rich kimchi soup which is quite spicy and full of garlic to me as i cant take too spicy food. Funny is the top pieces you can see are sliced sausages. 


Pa Jeon (Korean pancake with spring onion) @ RM9.90


Besides these, they serves seafood noodle, fried rice, stir fried noodle and Snow ice too. One who like Korean food can check this out. The seller are Korean.

The food is just not right for me as I don like garlic taste.

Uncle Prawn (大頭蝦漁港) @ Sunway Giza Mall, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara {CLOSED DOWN}

This is my 2nd approach to Uncle Prawn. Remember first time i went there when they newly open, I was so pissed off by their waiter that keep telling me the restaurant is FULL. I ask how long should i wait, and the waiter just keep tell me they are FULL instead of telling me politely that I may visit next time or try to find me a table. 

I decided to give it a try again after several months. And again the same attitude by their waiters. He told me that inside is FULL and request us to be seated outdoor, but we dislike the smoking area, so we still insist to have it indoor. The waiter just keep repeating is FULL. Then i ask further whether upstairs has any vacant table. Another waitress came over and say upstairs are big tables. So i ask whether we can sit at big table as we only have 3 person. She say no problem then show us the way. =.='' I feel they are so stupid to waste all the time telling me is FULL and explain upstairs only left big tables. Why don't just offer me the big tables, unless you reserve for big crowd, which they are not!!





There here we have a big table.


Ordered one of their signature dish - Fried Egg Noodle River Prawn in Creamy Egg Sauce (大頭蝦滑蛋生面) @ RM30/ portion
One portion can serve up to 2 pax with one river prawn into 2 pieces.


the noodle with thick creamy egg sauce is nice!! Honestly Sang Har Mee at Green View @ SS2 is still the best with the rich taste of River Prawn in the noodle and gravy. But Uncle Prawn is not bad too just the taste of the prawn egg yolk is not well mixed in the sauce. Can be better.


I like the prawn meat as its not very hard, just nice to suits my bite.




Besides, river prawns, they also serves other dishes like normal Chinese Restaurants.
Homemade Spinach Tofu (自制菠菜豆腐) @ RM16.80
Hmmm abit disappointed to this as there is no spinach taste nor you see any spinach in the tofu, its like liquid spinach mix with normal tofu. At first i thought is green tea tofu from the look. The top is some minced meat and shitaki mushroom which taste quite special.


Secret Recipe Thick Pork Rib (祕制黃金骨) @ RM19.80
Its highly recommended by the Captain as their special dish of a long piece of Pork Rib (shown in the Menu only). The pork is nice if you like the strong pork taste of it.

Afterall, I will still go back for their Noodle with River Prawn and may be tried other side orders. Hope their waiters are well trained dealing with incoming customers. Remember to request for vacant tables instead of waiting them to lead you no where.
