OldTown Kopitiam @ BU 8 Bandar Utama

An Old Town Kopitiam was newly open at Wisma BU8 only months ago. Always see its quite crowded especially during night time when i pass-by.

so on Monday i went to have a try.

surprisingly the OldTown is located in the CIMB Bank ! or CIMB Bank is in OldTown ? ahahaa whatever, they are like merge together la.

Can order your food or coffee while waiting for your turn to do banking... hahaha what a great idea. Businessman can have some meetings there too, a very convenient place.

Further, can get special rates for CIMB Bank holder too !

I din't really read through as i don't own an account with CIMB Bank. hehehee

ok.. my purpose for that day visit is because recently, OldTown introduce the ''My Lunch'' set. They had wide advertisement through radio and a full front page of Nanyang Newspaper on Monday ! so we went there for a try. (regret once a visit at Aman Suria)

Hor Hee set @ RM6.90 the kueh teow had a very strong smell (dono how to explain ahhaa like its soak in the kueh teow water for too long)

Pan Mee set @ RM5.90 Hardly can explain this pan mee ! the mee is like eating flour / starch. Not ''beaten'' well enough. No 彈性 ''bouncing'' on the mee at all. Luckily got the dry chili if not i don't know how to swallow the mee >.<

all the sets comes with a free soft drink. Top up RM1.00 for old town coffee. but actually from the menu, soft drink is price at RM3.50 but Coffee is just RM2.80 or RM3.20 (if not mistaken). why have to top up for a cheaper drink?

attached two pictures, last time took at Aman Suria Outlet, the Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun.... just see the picture of the menu and the one it actual serve to you. Really a big laugh out of it...

However, the drinks in OldTown is nice... I usually go OldTown just for drink with friends rather to have their meals. After this visit... OldTown noodles is really a NO NO to me...!

Swensen's (Buy 1 Free 1 Lunch Treats) @ SS2

Currently Swensen's Ice Cream Cafe is having a special promotion during lunch hour.

BUY 1 FREE 1 Lunch Treats from 11am to 3pm on Weekdays.

The promotion is just applicable to normal ala-carte main course meals. (ice-cream not consider >.<") So you need a twin pax to enjoy the promotion unless you can finish both the main course. Any combination is applicable but you pay at the more expensive ones.

I went there with 3 friends. We order both Lamb Chop with Almond flakes and both Grilled salmon each @ RM29.90. All of us had ice water which is FOC hahahaa.

After the taxes and charges, we pay around RM17.20 each.

The food is nice ! Luckily they did not reduce the food quality although having the Buy 1 Free 1 promotion. But instead they improved as compared to months ago that once I ate, the taste is less than average.

Rocket United Cafe @ SS2 {CLOSED DOWN}

A friend told me there is a new Cafe open in SS2 called - Rocket United. I was jokingly asking is it just a office for DAP meetings?

that day went to have a look and surprisingly is really a cafe !

there were Annuar Ibrahim and Lim Guan Ying (Penang Chief Minister) big poster on the wall too.

They serve mostly on local food.

Hainanese Chicken Rice @ RM8.90

Claypot Assam Seafood with rice @ RM9.80

Nyonya rice with Rendang Chicken @ RM8.90 (the rice is BLUE in color !! something like herbs)

Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken @ RM8.90 (the rendang chicken is marinated well)

Nasi Lemak with Sambal Sotong @ RM8.90

the food is quite nice and taste is good too! Will surely go back to try other dishes next time.

Portion is quite big, good for those who eat alot. Most of us is hungry that day so we ordered the rice. There are also all kinds of noodles, desserts etc.
