Sweet Bean (糖黐豆) @ SS2

The cute name of 糖黐豆 (sweet bean) signboard caught my attention each time i pass by SS2 for the past week when they were still under renovation. 糖黐豆 is a cantonese word which describe 2 person whom are very close and always get along together.

The cafe is officially open early this Monday.

Besides only desserts and tong shui, they serve meals too.
Set Lunch from RM8.90 - RM16.90 including a main course, jelly and a choice of ice lemon tea or tong shui. There are 6 choices of tong shui to be chosen.

Jelly (果冻) - kids soft jelly reminds me of my childhood.

Black Glutinous Rice (鸳鸯紫米露) - taste like home cook, not very traditional style but still acceptable.

Beancurd Sheet with Barley (蛋花腐竹薏米) - colleague claim that its TOO sweet.

Ice lemon tea

BBQ Honey Chicken Mee (Dry) 蜜汁叉烧面 (干)

Steamed Chicken & BBQ Honey Chicken Mee (dry) 滑鸡蜜汁叉烧面 (干)
The mee is quite salty and full of ‘'gan''水 taste (alkaline smell: the taste of wan ton noodle which is not cook/rinse thoroughly). BBQ chicken ''char siew'' is really quite dry and the steamed chicken are not well cooked, blood water flow out when i tear the chicken.

They also serve porridge, locals fusion, western chops and pasta too. Besides tong shui, they also have ice concoction, mango & coconut series, stewed desserts and tou fu fah series. One thing to be highlighted, they list out the charges of additional toppings eg. curry, sambal, kaya, lemon @ RM0.50 each!!!!.

  1. looks like the quantity of the food for this branch didn't shrink compared to their counterpart in sri petaling. i actually have not visited that branch for more than one year. hopefully the quality is still the same.
